The Vein and Skin Clinic is a specialized vein (phlebology), appearance medicine and cosmetic surgery clinic located in the heart of Wellington. Owned and operated by Dr. Henryk and Bernadette Poczwa, assisted by Dr Charles Peter Freeman and a team of highly trained and friendly nurses and receptionists, our clients are offered a safe, welcoming and confidential environment.

The clinic has been operating for 11 years and the client's safety and satisfaction is a major motivating force and one of the reasons Vein and Skin Clinic has seen constant growth in client numbers over this period. The Vein and Skin Clinic offers a variety of treatments, as it's name would imply, all geared towards medical, surgical and cosmetic management of vein and skin problems. Dr Poczwa, or Henryk as he likes to be called, has brought several new procedures to the Wellington district since the Vein and Skin Clinic's inception.

Dr Henryk Poczwa graduated from Otago Medical School, New Zealand in 1976 and entered general practice in 1979.  Having always held a special interest in minor surgery following a period of working in the highly regarded plastic surgery unit at Christchurch’s Burwood Hospital, he developed his particular interest in cosmetic procedures that could be performed in general practice.

Numerous specialist training courses followed (both local and international), which led Dr Poczwa along with other similarly trained medical Doctor’s to establish and inaugurate the Appearance Medicine Society of Australasia (AMSA), now NZCAM of which Dr Poczwa is a fellow.  NZ College of Appearance Medicine.

In 1994 Dr Poczwa was accepted as a foundation member of the newly established Phlebology (vein) Society of Australasia, now ACP (Australian College of Phlebology, of which Dr Poczwa is a fellow.

In 2003 Dr Poczwa became a fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery. and received specialist training in contour thread face lifts.

In 2006 Dr Poczwa was joined by Dr C. Peter Freeman, a Registered Medical Specialist in Emergency Medicine and a member of ACP.

Dr Poczwa continues to train in all aspects of appearance medicine.  In 2006 he began performing liposculpture, ie tumescent liposuction via the Klein method which is totally under local anaesthetic.

Peter Freeman is a UK trained medical specialist with a long time interest in vein treatment. Originally trained in surgery and later gained higher qualifications in emergency medicine. Recently featured in the TV series 'Emergency'. He provides Ultrasound guided sclerotherapyand endovenous laser treatment (EVLA) of large varicose veins and Surgitron (radio frequency) removal of skin lesions.
