Treat facial veins with advanced laser technology

Visible redness to the face is often a sign of broken facial veins beneath the skin’s surface. When these tiny blood vessels and capillaries break beneath the skin, the affects can greatly impact our appearance.

At the Vein and Skin Clinic, we understand that visible facial veins and facial blush can be distressing to the sufferer and we see a range of severities on a weekly basis.

Visible facial veins come in many different forms and affect both men and women. Redness can occur in small patches on the face, or cover a wide area, sometime travelling down the neck and to the chest.

There are a number of factors that cause facial vein conditions. Age, genetics, sun exposure and alcohol consumption are some of the more common reasons. However, anything that has the potential to put pressure on our delicate facial veins can break them and result in visible and sometimes permanent redness.

The Vein and Skin Clinic offer a treatment for spider veins, rosacea, blush areas and poikiloderma of civatte (tiny red vessels that cause pigmentation changes) with sessions of IPL (Intense Pulse Light). This is a highly effective treatment with a consistently successful track record.

How effective is IPL on facial vein conditions?

With state-of-the-art technology, the IPL treatments at Vein and Skin Clinic have proven to be very effective, typically minimising the appearance of facial veins by 80%, or clearing them completely.

We use Lumenis 1one platform which has a multi-application platform and can successfully treat a broad range of vein conditions. For maximum benefit, a few treatments may be needed depending on the severity of the condition.

There is minimal discomfort and no downtime or compression is required.

So how does IPL work?

When the laser delivers a concentrated pulse of light to the affected area, it heats the blood vessel walls, shrinking targeted veins and making them disappear.

The laser passes through the melanin barrier of the skin surface, meaning it does not interfere with pigmentation. And because the light is focused to a specific target, it does not affect the surrounding area.

The Lumenis brand is a pioneer in the world of laser technology and the team at Vein and Skin Clinic are confident in the successful results they produce.

No two facial vein conditions are created equal

Although both visible facial veins fall under the same umbrella, the appearance of each condition can be quite different.

  • Spider veins – more common in the nose and cheeks of fair-skinned people. Spider veins often appear as long, red or purple threads on the face.
  • Facial blush – when spider veins form in clusters, it can result in a blushed appearance on the face, neck and chest area. Exercise, embarrassment, coffee and alcohol can heighten the appearance of facial blush.
  • Poikiloderma of Cervatte – tiny red vessels cause an imbalance in pigmentation in the neck and upper décolletage area. The pigmentation may appear red or brown and is heightened by perfumes and sun exposure.
  • Rosacea – a common skin condition which, if left untreated, can result in permanent redness to the nose, cheeks, chin and forehead. In severe cases, rosacea can appear swollen and lumpy. It is not known what causes Rosacea, however a number of environmental and lifestyle factors can make it worse. Both IPL and Omnilux LED at Vein and Skin Clinic can control the symptoms of Rosacea.

When our appearance sparks insecurities within ourselves, it’s best to do something about it before it becomes an even bigger issue.

We can spend hundreds, even thousands, on creams and make-up that claim to reduce the signs of redness. But when these do nothing but mask the symptom, it can feel like money wasted on ineffective products.

Fortunately, we don’t need to feel disheartened anymore. IPL treatments at the Vein and Skin Clinic offer a permanent solution to facial vein conditions.

We understand that there is no one-size-fits-all treatment when it comes to appearance medicine. That’s why we carefully assess each patient’s condition before coming up with a treatment plan. On your consultation with us, we will discuss your concerns and explain the most appropriate course of action.

You don’t need to battle through the redness any longer. Call the Vein and Skin Clinic today and book a consultation with one of our highly experienced Doctors. Once you see the results, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.
