Chemical Peels
Chemical peels for fresher, rejuvenated skin.
The Vein and Skin Clinic offers a range of chemical peels, ideal for rejuvenation, pigmentation, scarring and other skin blemishes. Ideal for acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, and other skin blemishes, chemical peels create controlled and even shedding of several layers of damaged cells. A fresh new layer of skin is left. Just peel away imperfections!
How does a chemical peel work?Your skin is made up of many smaller layers. A chemical peel literally peels off the top layers, exposing the layers underneath. This may sound scary, but it works! Our skin is constantly shedding and replacing itself naturally, and a chemical peel is simply hurrying the process along.
Removing the top layer of skin promotes the growth of new, healthier skin cells. This can help get rid of imperfections such as sunspots, wrinkles and other blemishes. How effective a chemical peel is, depends on the “depth” of the peel. The least you can expect from a light peel is wrinkles, fine lines, and skin discolorations to become less visible. Skin texture will be visibly improved, collagen production boosted and blackheads will be reduced. |
Mild Chemical PeelThe most superficial peel is offered by a series of Jessner or low concentration Tri-Chloroacetic Acid (TCA) treatments. This mild peel, leaves the face rejuvenated and fresh. A series of these mild peels will maximise results.
Medium Chemical PeelA higher concentration TCA treatment allows a medium depth peel that gives dramatic and lasting results. It produces marked improvement in blotchy pigmentation, freckling, sun damage, fine wrinkles and some acne scarring. During the peeling stage clients may want to stay out of circulation because it is unsightly, though not painful. The effects of a TCA peel are rather like heavy sunburn, leaving a fresh layer of skin at completion. It is important to protect this newly healing skin from the sun for several weeks.
