Hyaluronic Acid – Dermal Fillers

Give your face, neck and hands a younger, fuller, more symmetrical appearance at the Vein and Skin Clinic.

Dermal fillers counteract the effects of aging by smoothing out lines and wrinkles by replacing lost collagen and fatty tissue, filling out your skin again, and keeping wrinkles at bay.

The Vein and Skin Clinic’s experienced doctor and cosmetic nurses have been using dermal fillers for more than 20 years. Even though dermal fillers are not a prescription medicine and only classified as a medical device, we still only stock dermal fillers approved by the New Zealand Society of Cosmetic Medicine (NZSCM).

Dermal fillers can be used on most areas around the face, adding volume to cheeks, smoothing out laugh lines around the eyes, and deep lines around the mouth and adding volume to thin lips if desired.

Depending on the area treated, the filler used, and the person receiving the injections, results can last anywhere from 6 months to 18 months.

The natural ageing process causes the skin to lose its full, firm and youthful appearance. The skin becomes less elastic due to collagen loss. It can sag causing wrinkles and deep lines to appear.  Fat tissue which maintains the fullness of your face also drops and loses some of its volume. The bony facial skeleton can also change and thin out.

Dermal fillers can help counteract this natural aging process by:

Dermal fillers are an excellent solution.  The technique of using larger volumes of dermal filler which loosely is called “volumising” offers an alternative to a surgical facelift.
