What is a thread lift?A thread lift is a popular procedure to achieve facial refreshment and improve skin quality without having to undergo surgery and the problem of scarring.
For patients not ready for a traditional surgical facelift, threads can offer a simple solution to lifting facial skin that is beginning to droop. The aim of a thread lift is not to replace a conventional facelift but to offer a minimally invasive approach to enhance facial contouring, with a faster recovery time. There is no cutting involved, so the procedure can be carried out under local anaesthetic in the day surgery setting. A typical treatment can take anywhere from 1 – 3 hours, and while a thread lift isn’t has rough as a facelift, patients will still experience some minimal discomfort, such as bruising and swelling. While normal activities can take place almost immediately, we recommend you take a few days off work. Results can be seen immediately and will to improve over the following 3 - 6 months. The threads normally dissolve within 9 - 12 months, with the effect lasting a few years before another treatment needs to be considered. |
