Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) for:
Sun Damaged Skin. PDT is one of the newer procedures available to treat sun damaged skin. Thick, crusty or scaly areas (solar/actinic keratoses) can be treated. These tend to occur in sun exposed areas of the face, scalp, neck, chest, arm, legs and the back of the hands. Keratoses are an indicator of extensive sun damage. Treatment can prevent progression to skin cancers. An alternative form of treatment for resistant lesions is Radio-Frequency Surgery. Acne. PDT can minimise pores and reduce oil glands. PDT effectively treats stubborn acne vulgaris, acne rosacea and can improve the appearance of acne scars. |
